In this document, we provide details about our Chili Piper integration and a step-by-step walkthrough of how to set it up and configure it.
Once you’ve completed the integration setup, your team’s lead capture flow will be enhanced. When a lead is saved in the Popl mobile app, the Chili Piper calendar will automatically appear in a popup, allowing for a seamless, one-click meeting booking experience.
It's important to note that this calendar will only trigger automatically after a Popl lead is created via a scan (badge scan, paper business card scan, qr code scan) or a lead is created manually from the Leads page in the mobile app.
You can also manually trigger the Chili Piper calendar to book a meeting with a lead by tapping the 3 dots button on the lead and selecting the "Book Meeting" option.
More details on these processes in the "Testing the Integration" section below.
First, ensure you're logged in to Popl Teams, and click into the Integrations tab. Under the Calendar Booking tab, locate Chili Piper and select it to create a new connection.
Next, you will be taken to the connect page as shown below. Choose if you want to connect the integration for your entire team or certain subteams. The option you select will determine which team members are able to book Chili Piper meetings with their Popl leads. Once you’ve made your selection click “Connect Integration”.
After clicking connect, you’ll see the pop-up below that prompts you to enter your Chili Piper API Key. To find your Chili Piper API Key, go to this page in your Chili Piper dashboard and log in if you are not already: https://apps.chilipiper.com/admin-center/integrations
Find the section containing your Zapier API Key and copy it by selecting the copy button to the right of the key.
This api key is a general api key that Chili Piper provides your team and is not specific to Zapier. This is why you can use it for our integration. Our integration does NOT use Zapier to any extent.
Back within Popl, paste your Chili Piper API Key into the provided field and click “Connect”
Once the connection is successful, you will get visual confirmation that the connection has been made and you will be taken to the Chili Piper configuration page.
This section allows you to adjust which team members this integration applies to. Click "Edit Team Settings" to add or update applicable subteams or apply to your Full Team.
With your Chili Piper API Key provided, we will automatically retrieve your account’s available routing links. Select a routing link from the dropdown to apply it to this integration. This link determines the meeting booking logic used when scheduling meetings with your Popl leads. If needed, you can manage or modify routing links in the “Concierge” section of your Chili Piper workspace.
Important Note: Any time a routing link is reselected, all custom mappings in the Field Mappings section will be reset. This happens because the routing link dictates which custom mappings are available.
When scheduling meetings, you have two options for determining which team member’s calendar the meeting will be booked on:
The Popl user that met the lead: Selecting this option ensures that the meeting is booked directly on the calendar associated with the Popl user who captured the lead. This setting overrides any calendar assignment logic defined in the Chili Piper routing link. To match the respective user in Chili Piper, Popl will search your Chili Piper account for a user with the same email. If no Chili Piper user with a matching email is found, the meeting will follow the default booking logic set in the routing link.
Chili Piper Routing: This option follows the round-robin booking logic set in your chosen Chili Piper routing link. Typically, routing logic in Chili Piper is based on various form fields that a meeting attendee fills out before scheduling. In this case, the relevant fields would be collected with the creation of the Popl lead and passed to the Chili Piper form via the Field Mappings section.
Use this section to map information from the Popl lead to the Chili Piper meeting form. You'll use the Custom Mappings tab to transfer most, if not all, lead details. For each mapping, simply choose a field from Popl and match it with the appropriate field in Chili Piper.
If you need to send a fixed piece of information that remains the same for all leads and does not exist as a field on the Popl lead, use Static Mapping instead.
Refer to the How It Works section to test the integration within the Popl mobile app. Click the “Test Integration” button and follow the steps. To ensure a successful test, make sure you’re logged into an account that is assigned to this integration according to the Team Settings section.
Once you’ve configured your desired settings, you’re all set! Your team can now seamlessly book Chili Piper meetings with leads directly from the Popl mobile app.
